Hi. I am 9 weeks pregnant and I had some slight spotting on Sunday, so I went in for an ultrasound on Monday morning. Baby looked great, measuring right on target with a good heartbeat.
I went back in yesterday for a pelvic exam and discovered I have bacterial vaginosis. I was prescribed Flagyl for this infection, but my doctor told me that it isn’t recommended in the first trimester because there haven’t been any studies performed on women in the first tri taking this medication. He said if it gets worse to go ahead and take it, but if it isn’t bothering me, to wait until 12 weeks.
I am nervous that letting this go "untreated" for 3 more weeks will hurt my baby. Me and my husband tried for 7 months for this little one and we love him/her so much already, I would be devastated if something happened. So my question is… Have you been in this position? If so, what/when did you take the medication? Also, do the risks of getting an infection in my uterus outweight the risks of Flagyl?

I went to the doctor yesterday and she told me I had bacterial vaginosis and she gave me some cream for it (similar to treatment for yeast infections) The directions werent clear on how long to keep it in there, or how soon it would work. When do I know that its cleared up? For some reason I think I should be on antibiotics…will the cream cure it?

The bumps are located on the outer lips and inner thigh. They aren’t really painful but they are very itchy and irritated. Has anyone else noticed bumps down there in result of having a Bacterial Vaginosis infection?

I’m fifteen. I already went for a check-up. Do I call my pediatrician?! Isn’t that embarrassing?!
Symptoms:
1. white discharge
2. not really a strong odor, only when long periods between showering (when I do sports)
3. sometimes my discharge is very clear
Do I have Bacterial vaginosis?

I started taking Metronidazol for my bacterial vaginosis two days ago. The discharge, burning, itching, and odor all stopped, until last night. There was a light itch and this morning, it was really bad. I haven’t had sex or anything to cause this to come back. My doctor told me to take the prescribed medicine for 1 week. Why did this itching come back, what does it mean, and is this medicine even working?

Can a Cytotex abortion in 2005 cause Gardnerella vaginalis or bacterial vaginosis after 2 or 3 years? Why have antibiotics failed to treat the infection? And how can it be treated?

I recently found out I had bacterial vaginosis and am just wondering if this was found through the STD testing or the pap smear?

I was with my ex for years and kept getting bacterial vaginosis. My Doctor told me that it is not a sexual transmitted disease but I havent had it again since I stopped having sex with him. Is it possible that he was the reason I kept getting it ?
