Bacterial Vaginosis?
I have bacterial vaginosis as diagnosed by my doctor. It has reccured twice and all three times I have recieved Metronidazole 500 mg bid for 7 days. I am woundering because on the net I see putting yogurt in your vagina helps? I am wondering if anyone has done this, and how to tell if it is a live culture of yogurt. How would one clean up after this? I really dont want to put anything in my vagina that might make the infection worse. please help!
Note seriouse answers please I am reporting all bad answers as abuse.
Both my doctor and a few websites have told me to use the yogurt, i am not some crazy person who’s moma’s cousins friend told her to do this

I must confess I’ve never heard of using yogurt to treat BV, but hey if you’re miserable, give it a try. After all, the prescription you’re being given is also prescribed to treat yeast infections, so it might just work. All yogurt labels plainly state that they contain live cultures…it’s just in tiny print hidden among everything else so you have to search. The only time I had BV was when I was about 8 months pregnant with my first child; the Metronidazole that you insert in there didn’t work for me either. It didn’t go away until after I had the baby.
