Can you be tested for bacterial vaginosis during your period?

I think I have a bacterial infection. I have swelling and itching on my vagina. I thought I had a yeast infection, and treated it. It went away for a few days and now it is back? I have an appointment tomorrow, but now I have started my period. Is this a waste of an appointment? Should I reschedule?

Call and ask them they will know. I am almost sure you need to not be on your period for them to check for that.
