How long should you wait to have sex after being treated for Bacterial Vaginosis?

How long should you wait before having intercourse after being treated with Metro Gel (Metronidazole) and Diflucan. I have taken the prescribed amount for 5 days, as the doctor said. I had sex after 7 days, and was very irritated. Plus, there was this horrible clumpy white discharge. I thought it was tissue, but it wasn’t. How long should I wait till after this medication is completed? Did I make things worst?

You should wait until all of your symptoms are gone, and your medication is finished. If you finished your medicine and you’re still having problems, call your doctor.

yeah you did make things worse, you need to wait for at least a week after taking the last pill, not two days.

You should wait like 2 weeks rto make sure its all clear. The clumpy discharge is probably the cream, it takes a while to get out your system. You dont want to make it anymore irritated, so just hold out about a week or two until you know its gone.

You did no harm. The problem is, bacterial vaginosis has a tendency to recur. Clumpy white discharge is often yeast and diflucan should have taken care of that. Often, more than one vaginal infection can occur at a time, and it sounds as though you were treated for two of them. (PS: tissue looks like raw hamburg, so that was not the problem). If you have more than one sexual partner, be sure you have them use condoms.

no you did not make things worse. Just drink a lot of water and finish the prescription. But, try to avoid sex for a few more days. It only makes things irritating. Its just a mild case of a yeast infection just not as severe. So continue on your life as if you were treating a yeast infection. ..sorry no sex for a little longer. girls gotta heal!
