I am currently taking the medication for bacterial vaginosis, but I am still having a major itch and discharge?

I started taking Metronidazol for my bacterial vaginosis two days ago. The discharge, burning, itching, and odor all stopped, until last night. There was a light itch and this morning, it was really bad. I haven’t had sex or anything to cause this to come back. My doctor told me to take the prescribed medicine for 1 week. Why did this itching come back, what does it mean, and is this medicine even working?

Well you have only been taking them for 2 days. I takes 7-14 days to completely clear up the bacteria. keep taking them or read up on Metronidazole so you can get a better understanding of how it kills bacteria.

with women, when you take antibiotics there is a strong possibility that you can develop a yeast infection. (isn’t that just nice, you go to the doctor for one thing, they cure it and now you are left with another) i would call your doctor to let them know, maybe you needed something stronger.
